What’s on this summer in Montchavin Les Coches

At Alpine365, we love the summer just as much as the winter. Pack away the skis and get out your mountain bikes! And in the evening, relax with a glass of rosé around the barbecue! We have amazing tracks to ride from the chalet door, plus swimming, walking, road cycling, paragliding, climbing – all on our doorstep and under the gaze of Mont Blanc.

The summer season in Montchavin Les Coches opens on 29th June 2019 with loads of events and activities for the family. We offer self-catering summer holidays in Chalet Chocolat and Chalet Grizzli – with a week only costing £1075 for up to 12 people, take a look at our summer prices now.

What’s going on this summer in the local area:

Sun 30th June –  Motor Sportive Day
Back for the 9th time, this hugely successful event showcases an amazing number of sports cars in Les Coches. The road to Montchavin is then closed off, and you get the chance to be driven between the two resorts in the car of your dreams. It’s very noisy, very fast and the hairpins are exhilarating.

Thurs 18th July & 8th August – Family Race
Each year, Montchavin Tourist Office puts on the Family Race, where adults and children have to walk or run from Montchavin to Les Coches (uphill!) with lots of games, quizzes and surprises en route. Even if you don’t take part, it’s fun to watch!

Tues 23rd July – Annual Outdoor Meal
Every year, the restaurants and shops in Les Coches lay on a lovely evening meal and concert outside.

Sun 27th July – Tour de France
The Tour de France passes through nearby Bourg St Maurice (Albertville – Val Thorens stage) and this year, it will be passing very close to the Alpine365 HQ! We will be waving the cyclists on!

Thurs 1st Aug – Stage 2 – Tour de Tarentaise
You can line the streets of Montchavin and Les Coches and cheer on the cyclists for this gruelling race.

Sun 4th August – Marriage d’Autrefois
This is a great event to watch. Step back in time as the locals dress up in clothes from yesteryear, act out a marriage and parade through the streets. There’s scenes from the olden days, gorgeous Savoyard costumes, old machinery and trades and cheese-making.

Tues 13th Aug – Street Bike
Organised by Evolution2, you can take part in this fun mountain bike race around the local area. The race is split into three categories (4 – 8 years old; 8 – 13yrs; adults/children over 14).

Thurs 15th August – Fest-e Bike
A whole day dedicated to electric mountain biking – leaving at 9:30 in the morning and returning at 17:30, you can spend the day an e-bike, riding to a dedicated Bike Park with lunch and lift pass included.

If this isn’t enough to whet your appetite for a summer holiday in the Alps, there’s masses more on, including weekly yoga, magic shows, a fabulous cabaret, circus skills sessions, tennis, archery, ping pong and volley ball to name a few!
