Chalet Chocolat

Part of our Montchavin Collection, Chalet Chocolat is a beautiful boutique chalet in Montchavin-Les Coches, built in 2017. This new-build chalet is part of an exclusive development in Montchavin, located right by (a few steps away from!) the ‘Les Coches’ cable car.

Arranged spaciously over 4 floors, Chalet Chocolat uses a clever mix of local stone and wood to create an authentic yet contemporary feel. Every bedroom has a glorious view of Mont Blanc and the ensuite bathrooms are modern and stylish.

The large dining table is a great place to enjoy 4-course dining prepared by a professional chef and host team, and the open-plan kitchen/diner and lounge has stunning views of the mountains and comfortable sofas arranged to create an area around the TV and fireplace. Plus a full-width balcony to enjoy both the glorious views and the bracing mountain air.

On the roof terrace of Chalet Chocolat is an outdoor hot tub, where you can enjoy a glass of champagne and gaze out at the stars.

Guests can find bootwarmers in the entrance hallway to ensure your ski boots are lovely and warm in the mornings, and there is a lockable ski locker outside the front door for boards and skis.

As they are right next door to each other, Chalet Chocolat can be combined with its sister chalet, Chalet Grizzli to sleep large groups of up to 24.

Chalet Chocolat is based in Montchavin in La Plagne and is in a simply great location. It’s right opposite the Evolution2 shop (ideal for ski school and ski hire); just by the ‘Les Coches’ cable car for easy access to skiing both La Plagne and Les Arcs, and is only a very short 200m walk from the family-friendly resort centre of Montchavin with its shops, restaurants and bars.

This all means that it’s really easy to pop back to the chalet early (or if it’s a white-out, you could always have a lie-in and leave a bit later!) or for families, arrange for the nanny to pick up the kids after ski school and bring them back to the comfort of the chalet.

There is secure underground car parking (2 spots), which makes driving to the Alps very appealing.

Your chalet staff live in a separate apartment in Montchavin.

Chalet Chocolat has an enviable position, being both in the centre of the village, but also being right next to a ski lift – the “Coches” bubble-lift in Montchavin is literally the building next door to the chalet.

So in the morning, it’s a (very quick!) walk to the lift to whisk you up into the skiing. And in the afternoon you can ski back down to Montchavin and cut off to Chalet Chocolat, meaning you can ski back to within about 20 metres of the front door (or to the bar opposite the chalet if you prefer…). And all on a blue slope.

And if your legs are a bit weary after a long day on the mountain you can even take the bubble lift back down to the chalet.
