Chalet Grizzli

Chalet Grizzli, a bright contemporary chalet, was newly built for the 2017/18 season and forms part of our exclusive Montchavin Collection.

Just like its sister chalet (Chalet Chocolat, next door) Chalet Grizzli is a part of an exclusive development, located right next to the ‘Les Coches’ cable car in Montchavin. The cable car is so close that you can see it out of the lounge window!

Chalet Grizzli is beautifully designed over 4 floors, combining a stylish blend of local stone, alpine timber and luxurious decor to create a chic yet contemporary feel. Each of the 5 bedrooms has a view of Mont Blanc and the ensuite bathrooms are bright and modern.

On the third floor, there is a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, which features a full-width balcony with great views, perfect for catching the sunset after a day’s skiing. There are plenty of comfortable sofas arranged around the fireplace, and guests can enjoy their 4-course evening dinner, prepared by a professional chef, at a lovely long wooden dining table.

Chalet Grizzli has an outdoor hot tub on the roof terrace, where you can enjoy a glass of Prosecco from the chalet bar and gaze out at the stars.

Just outside the front door is a lockable ski locker to keep your skis and snowboards, and in the entrance hall, there is a set of boot-warmers to ensure your ski boots are toasty warm in the mornings.

Guests in the spring-time can enjoy spending time in the garden at the back of the chalet.

As they are right next door to each other, Chalet Grizzli can be combined with Chalet Chocolat to sleep large groups of up to 24.

Situated in Montchavin, which together with Les Coches makes Montchavin La Plagne, (one of the 11 resorts that make up La Plagne), Chalet Grizzli is opposite the Evolution2 shop (ideal for ski school and ski hire) and right by the Les Coches cable car, which is where ski school meets.

It only takes a minute or two to walk the 200m to the family-friendly resort centre of Montchavin, with its shops, restaurants and bars.

Our guests love the location because it means they can easily pop back to the chalet early (or have a lie-in and leave a bit later!) or families can tag-team it to pick up the kids after ski school and bring them back to the comfort of the chalet.

Unusually for a ski chalet and highly sought after, there is secure underground car parking (2 spots) – so no more concerns about clearing off snow when you come to leave!

Sleeps 10 – 12 in 5 bedrooms (4 double/twins and 1 family room, which has 1 double/twin + bunkbed)
Complimentary toiletries, cotton bedding, soft towels and bathrobes. Each room can be made up into a double or a twin.

Your chalet staff live in a nearby apartment in Montchavin.

Please note that Chalet Grizzli is a mirror image of Chalet Chocolat – so for floorplan images please look there (remember to “flip” the view in your head though!)

Like its sister chalet, Chalet Chocolat, Chalet Grizzli has a truly perfect position, being both in the centre of the village of Montchavin, but also being right next to a ski lift – the “Coches” bubble-lift in Montchavin is literally the building next door to the chalet (and you can even see if from the lounge window, as you’ll see in the chalet image gallery)

So in the morning, it’s a (very quick!) walk to the lift to whisk you up into the skiing. And in the afternoon you can ski back down to Montchavin and cut off to the chalet, meaning you can ski back to within about 20 metres of the front door (or to the bar opposite the chalet if you prefer…). And all on a blue slope.

For the more adventurous it’s even possible to cut behind the chalet and ski round right to the front door – it is off-piste though so, so best left to the more intrepid of guests!

And if your legs are a bit weary after a long day on the mountain you can even take the bubble lift back down to the chalet.
