The summer season kicks off in Montchavin Les Coches later this month, with plenty of activities and events for the whole family to enjoy. The lifts open on 5 July, ready to take you as a pedestrian or with your mountain bikes, to enjoy all that’s on offer.
You can rent Chalet Chocolat, Chalet Grizzli or Chalet Bluebird (sleeps 12 people) on a self-catering basis from 1650€ for a 3-night stay and 1950€ for a week. Take a look at our Summer Page for more information.

Motor Sportive Day – 29 June
If you’re into sportscars, then this family-friendly spectacular meet is a must. You will get to see some of the most exclusive and desirable motors up close in Montchavin, plus punters can pay to have a ride in the car of their dreams for charity. All the big boys will be there including Porsches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris and more. For each ride, the organisers will be giving out a packet of seeds to encourage bees and promote biodiversity. It’s noisy, it’s fast and the hairpins are exhilarating!

Up & Go Park – open all summer
If you take the ‘Les Coches’ bubble next to our Montchavin chalets (free for pedestrians), you will come across the Up and Go Park in front of the winter ice rink. Up and Go has revolutionised this space to now include dozens of activities. Every Sunday throughout the summer at 4pm, visitors over the age of 14 can try out an e-scooter, free of charge. If you like it, they organise guided tours throughout the week. There’s also an accro-bungee; a treetop/zip line course; slack-line; archery; table tennis; tennis; volleyball and a BBQ/picnic area.

Tour de France returns to La Plagne! – 25 July
Great news for cycling fans – after a 23 year absence, the Tour de France is making a comeback to La Plagne on 25th July. This stage will be the last major battle in the mountains before it finishes two days later on the Champs-Elysées in Paris. Stretched over a demanding 130km of riding, the stage starts in Albertville with 4,500m of ascent, crossing 4 gruelling mountain passes before tackling the final 19km with 24 hairpin turns all the way to La Plagne.

SPLASH ! – water-sports
If the Alpine summer is getting too hot for you, it’s always a good idea to head to the water to cool off.
Montchavin has a great outdoor swimming pool with lovely spots outside to picnic.
From Les Coches and Montchavin, there is a free shuttle bus to the ‘Base de Loisirs’, which is a family-friendly outdoor area around a swimming lake, with lots of activities, a sandy beach, a restaurant and a playground. It’s well worth a day out!
