Eurostar ski train launched for 2023/2024

New Eurostar ski train launched!

A new Eurostar ski train line will be running in December and January 2024. It’s not a direct train as before, but it leaves London St Pancras and stops at Lille, where you will need to change platforms, and then get the next Eurostar to LANDRY (the stop between Aime and Bourg St Maurice).

Be careful – all articles about this in the media tell you to get off at Aime train station for La Plagne, but Montchavin Les Coches is much closer to Landry.

In fact, Landry is just a 10 minute journey from our chalets and if we have availability, we will pick you up from Landry station; if we can’t, we’ll book you a taxi.

The only catch is that the train leaves London on a Saturday and returns on a Sunday – not much use for most ski holidays, which are a week long (including ours!).

However, some of our ingenious guests have already found a night’s accommodation in Landry at Hotel l’Alpin on the Saturday, which means you could get out skiing on Sunday morning and get 7 days’ skiing in! If you’re interested in doing this, let us know if you can’t find accommodation as we may be able to help with suggestions.

Get the train via Paris

As the Eurostar London to Lille finishes in February, another great way to get to the chalets is to jump on the Eurostar from London to Paris, a change in Paris (Gare de Nord to Gare de Lyon), and then the SNCF train to LANDRY.

Here’s when you can book your SNCF tickets:

For trains from 16 Dec 2023 to 9 Jan 2024: Bookings opened 4 October 2023
Trains from 9 Jan 2024 to 11 Feb 2024: Bookings open progressively (you can sign up for an alert)
For trains from 11 Feb 2024 to 24 March 2024: Bookings open on 15 November 2023
(When the bookings opened for Christmas, the SNCF website crashed so bear with it if you’re trying to book for half term!)

New café at LANDRY train station

And (finally) while you’re waiting for your train or ride up to the chalets, guests are well advised to pop into Alpine Roots Café, a wonderful new café at Landry station. Fantastic sandwiches, cakes and meals; a range of teas and coffees; all the non-dairy milk you could ask for, and it’s lovely and toasty warm inside while you’re waiting for your train.
