We can’t quite believe it but Alpine365 turned 15 years old in December 2023!
Back in 2008, we (Duncan and Toorna) got married, spent our honeymoon on a ‘gourmet cooking course for chalets’ in romantic Milton Keynes (!), then moved to France all in the same year. (Hint, it’s also our 15th wedding anniversary this year, Duncan!)
Starting with our very first chalet in Les Coches, the beautiful Chalet Epicea, we’ve slowly and carefully expanded over the years. We’ve always made sure that any chalet we take on is not only spacious and perfectly designed for ski holidays, but also close to the slopes (so no carrying skis about!)
And we’ve always wanted to be the first contact for guests when they enquire, plus be able to visit them during the week to check how their holiday is going (and often have a beer with them!) And, as food is really important to us, we knew right from the beginning that we only wanted to employ professional chefs (and not just trained chalet staff) so that our guests would be treated to restaurant-quality dining.
There’s no way we could’ve done this without our amazing drivers and chalet couples, many of whom have been with us for several years; some have launched their own restaurants and businesses after their ski season, and quite a few have started their own families.
And of course, a huge thank you to all our suppliers, who have helped our guests with ski school, transfers, food & wine and all the essential things that make a ski holiday run smoothly.
And finally, thanks to our wonderful guests, some of whom have been with us right from the off. We’ve seen children grow up; celebrated birthdays and anniversaries, witnessed quite a few marriage proposals and made many friends along the way.
