If you think chalet holidays are just for skiers, think again! From scenic snowshoe strolls to sledging down the closed pistes, the mountains offer fresh-air activities for everyone!
Pedestrian lifts
Non-skiers can take numerous lifts in Montchavin Les Coches as pedestrians and they are ideal to use if you’re meeting skiing friends for lunch.
- Les Coches Bubble – right outside our Montchavin chalets; free for pedestrians
- Telebufette Bubble – ideal for Chalet Pisteside guests; free for pedestrians
- Montchavin Chairlift – the Sauget restaurant is located just at the top
- Lac Noir Bubble – at the top, there’s the beginner area so you can watch the family learn to ski
- Pierre Blanche Chairlift – the Pierre Blanche restaurant (great apres and tunes!) is locoated at the top
- The Vanoise Express – takes you over to Les Arcs
Snowshoe walking
Join a guided ‘Raquette’ snowshoe trek with the local ski schools—or blaze your own trail. We’ve got a few pairs of snowshoes available (first come, first served), and rentals are easy to arrange. Prefer solo exploring? Grab a walking map from the tourist office and discover stunning trails right from your chalet doorstep.
Husky Rides
Climb into a sledge and let a team of spirited huskies whisk you through the snowy forests of Montchavin Les Coches—it’s pure alpine magic. Led by a pro musher from Evolution2, you’ll meet the dogs, learn the ropes, and snap unforgettable photos. Kids can join too, making it a thrilling adventure for the whole family.
Fondue evening in a tipi
Perfect for your chalet staff night off, strap on your snowshoes and hike up the mountain. Warm up with a glass of vin-chaud in Evolution2’s cosy tipi, then gather around the campfire for a delicious alpine fondue (mmm, cheese!) Cap it all off with a thrilling husky ride back down to Montchavin Les Coches.
L’espace Paradisio – spa and pool complex
The aquatic centre in Montchavin will do wonders for any aches and pains! With a small swimming pool (Baby swimming classes on a Weds!), you can treat yourself to the jacuzzi, Turkish baths and wellness room.
Massages
Aching muscles and sore legs after a hard day on the slopes? Then why not indulge in a lovely massage to soothe away any pains!
We’ve partnered with Massage Me, an experienced mobile massage service that offers a range of treatments. And you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own room as they will come to the chalet!
Treatments include Swedish massage, stone therapy, reflexology, deep tissue massage and physiotherapy, and they can be taken any time between 8am and 8pm, with prices starting from 50€. Discounts apply if you book 3 or more consecutive hours, and you can even buy gift vouchers to treat a friend or partner.
If you would like to book, either book beforehand or simply ask your chalet host when you arrive, or at any time throughout your week. Go on, treat yourselves!
The La Plagne Bobsleigh
La Plagne is home to the Olympic Bobsleigh and skeleton track. You can try the bob raft, which holds 4 people and is ideal for first timers (you still experience speeds of up to 80km/hour!) or go it alone in the speed luge with an incredible 19 bends or be driven by a professional in a bobsleigh, reaching 120km/hour! You’d need to get a taxi there and back (we can organise this), it opens at 4pm so best to arrange on the chalet staff day off – it’s very popular so gets booked up very quickly.
The Folie Douce
For all your party-goers, a ski holiday is not complete without a visit to the Folie Douce legendary party spot in Les Arcs! Open every day from 9am to 7pm, there’s places to eat, a great bar, cabaret acts to watch and of course, dancing on the tables to banging tunes! You’ll need to book a taxi to get home as the lifts will be closed by the end!

If that’s enough to do, there’s also an ice rink; yoga lessons; snake gliss (sledging down the closed pistes), paragliding and weekly activities that the tourist office runs. And of course, you can just curl up in the chalet with a cuppa and a good book!
